RESOURCE in the field again

Míša Jaterková's research

Following successful fieldwork in the Netherlands led by Maike Melles, the project has now shifted to Czechia. In April, Michaela Jaterková conducted introductory interviews with fifteen participating households across the country, focusing on everyday water and food use. Occasionally, interviews took place in participants’ homes, which enabled a deeper understanding of the material conditions that shape everyday resource-related routines. These encounters generated valuable insights and sometimes even involved the sharing of homemade and homegrown items related to frugal practices. As in the Dutch study, these participants will systematically track their food waste, water consumption, and reuse habits over one week in each season, while also answering additional questions via paper diaries and WhatsApp.
